CourtListener court feeds
CourtListener, a project of the non-profit Free Law Project, publishes a feed of each court's newest opinions, marked "Created for the public domain by Free Law Project". Ohio Courier reads each court's feed at most once an hour and keeps the case name, the filing date, the first lines of the opinion and the links. It never rewrites or summarizes them.
| Court | Feed | Last read |
|---|---|---|
| Supreme Court of Ohio | feed | Oct 27, 12:47 PM ET |
| Ohio Courts of Appeals | feed | Oct 27, 12:47 PM ET |
| Ohio Court of Claims | feed | Oct 27, 12:47 PM ET |
| U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit | feed | Oct 27, 12:47 PM ET |
| U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio | feed | Oct 27, 12:47 PM ET |
| U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio | feed | Oct 27, 1:07 PM ET |
| U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio | feed | Oct 27, 1:07 PM ET |
Each feed holds a court's 20 newest opinions. On a day a court releases more than that between two reads, some can be missed: the court's own website is the complete record.
The Sixth Circuit hears appeals from Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee. Ohio Courier lists all of its published opinions, so some Sixth Circuit cases come from Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee.
Official PDFs
Opinions of the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Ohio Courts of Appeals carry a web citation such as 2026-Ohio-1234. For those, Ohio Courier checks the Supreme Court of Ohio's Reporter of Decisions for the matching PDF and links it only when the court's server answers with that PDF.
What Ohio Courier adds
Only sorting: the court, the appellate district and the county are read from the court's own caption. If the caption is unusual, a case can be missing from a district or county page; it is still on its court's page and in search.
